Customer Review: I loved the movie and my basset hound sang along to a few of the tunes in the movie; however she (the basset) did not respond at all to the music from the sound track, and this was a little disappointing, but I liked it a great deal.
Customer Review: Every bit as big a firebrand as her husband, the uber-maverick Steve Earle, Allison Moorer has shown herself capable of immersing herself in very roots-oriented music throughout her careeer, usually that combination of rock, R&B, folk, and country called "Americana." Her last two albums, 2004's... more info
Customer Review: This CD includes by favorite song "Looking for a soft place to fall". Her voice is amazing. CD maybe should be 4 stars. As it won't be my favorite CD as a couple of the songs are too "country" for me and I skip them, but most are very good. A couple are great. It's easy to listen too.
Customer Review: It's surprising this lady isn't better known. Possibly, after this album, she just decided to "do her own thing". Whatever, this disc is excellent. It will be pleasing to fans of modern country while sounding traditional enough to satisfy fans of that genre too. Allison's voice is truly memorable,... more info
Customer Review: I just got this and can't stop watching the "bonus" DVD. I thought it might have 2 or 3 songs - NO - This is a whole concert on DVD. As everyone else has pointed out, Allison's voice is just a pure gift in it's clarity and phrasing. The delivery of two songs in particular make me want to say this is... more info
Customer Review: Alison continues to drift accross genres with "The Duel," her fourth album. This album is more like Miss Fortune than like either of her first two albums, but it is definitely a style its own. It is kind of a mix of blues and 90s alternative chick-music. There's not too much uptempo stuff on here,... more info
Customer Review: ....have been all over the place. And, I suppose that's to be expected...Allison has landed in the nether land where country, pop, and rock overlap. Some like that; some don't...I liked it just fine.... We have here an album about the good and bad of relationships, and just plain survival...she... more info
Customer Review: The Hardest Part is an excellent sophmore album from Alison Moorer. She is a very talented musician [singer and writer] and it's just weird she never made it bigger with the quality of this album and her first, Alabama Song. Alison remains in the country genre on this album. Her later albums... more info
Customer Review: That is, if you like your music to match your weather. Moorer has a right to sing the blues, as they say, and she's good at it. She has a strong, lovely alto that, save for the Southern accent, would have served her just as well at Motown as in Nashville. She sings with much feeling, without... more info
