Customer Review: The music on this soundtrack is hauntingly beautiful! I can listen to it over and over. One of the best music purchases I have ever made!
Customer Review: The sound on the CD is just as good as my old vinyl recording, but the pauses between tracks are either extremely short or non-existent. This invariably proves irritating. I'm not a sound-engineer so I don't know if there's any way this could have been fixed, at least without turning the recording... more info
Customer Review: Gould playing Bach? Need I say more? Beautiful and sublime.....Love these interpretations. Wondering why Glenn's own written liner notes were not posted on this CD. He normally included this, unless this was not an official release at the time. I am sure someone can comment on this.
Customer Review: As much as I love Glenn Gould, I think Bach's music was written mainly for the enjoyment of the soul. Anytime I listen to this recording I cannot savour it properly. Gould plays them at a devilish speed. It is fine to appreciate Gould's skills, but the grace of this music is lost in the process. Try... more info
Customer Review: I've cherished Glenn Gould's Bach Partitas since I first found it from my father's old LP collection many years ago. I've listened to it ridiculosly many times in all formats--cassettes, CDs, and MP3s. (I now always carry it in my iPhone.) Gould's fiendishly exuberant playing is of course classic.... more info

He plays with little or no pedal achieving the delicacy of a harpsicord with the depth of the pianoforte. Some scholars and pianists may differ in their appreciation, but I... more info
Customer Review: After reading "A Romance on Three Legs" I was fascinated by the person the book was about - Glenn Gould. After reading the book I had to hear his piano solos. Now I am hooked!! Glenn Gould's solos are truly wonderful. I put the CD on while I am quilting and the music is even more relaxing than the... more info
Customer Review: I don't really understand why the second book of the Well tempered clavier and the Glenn Gould version in particular, is less loved than first. As bach work the second book is by far more intense and deep. As Gould interpretation is almost perfect, also less idiosyncratic, and astonishing...
Customer Review: Forget bronze - all of Gould's Bach-playing that I have yet heard (probably most of it by now) is gold-medal stuff for me. However two thousand years ago another bachelor, Horace, was emboldened to claim permanence for what he left to us, and I don't feel it's unreasonable or presumptuous to claim... more info
