Customer Review: I'll throw two more cents in among all the beautiful words people have written on the subject of Civilians. In my view, Tiny Voices might have made a pinnacle of a great career, but somehow Joe Henry keeps getting better, stronger, just keeps growing, as a storyteller, as a lyricist, an... more info
Customer Review: Outstanding! I love the music of boy's choirs, but so often the CDs also contain a lot of symphony, adult choirs, adult soloists, etc.... I don't want all that extra stuff, just the beauty of boys' voices. This is it! It's a bit comtemporary at times, but there is a nice mix with traditional music... more info
Customer Review: I bought this on a whim, as I like male choral groups. Am I ever glad I bought it! The music is soaring, and the voices are magnificent. I don't know all of the technical stuff about recording, etc.--I just know I love this collection!
Customer Review: I purchased this album to hear Henry's take on Madonna's "Don't Tell Me, entitled "Stop" on this album! Not only was I blown away by his version, but the rest of the album had me absolutley captivated from start to finish! What a pity, then, that we know so little of Henry in Australia! Three versions of "Ol' Man River" are included,... more info
Customer Review: I can't believe I never even heard of Moondog until this week. I heard this double CD at a friend's house and immediately purchased it. I love it! The range of styles and moods, the sheer beauty of the compositions: breathtaking. This has become a favorite very quickly.
Customer Review: Very disappointed in this album. I bought both this disc and the original Stan Kenton Christmas album "A Merry Christmas" at the same time. Kenton's release stands head and shoulders above this pale imitation. Not recommended.
Customer Review: I picked up Joe Henry's "Fuse" when it first came out on the strength of gushing reviews. I was immediately smitten with "Monkey," and bored to tears with the rest. I tried to get through "Fuse" three times, and each was more painful than the last (I single-tracked "Monkey" a whole lot, though). I... more info
