Customer Review: Car Wheels was my first Lucinda Williams CD and I fell in love. It's one of the few cd's that I own that I can put on shuffle and don't skip a song. One of my top 3 best CD's EVER!!!!!!!!
Customer Review: "West," sung by Lucinda Williams, was a very distinctive vocal arrangement of country and rock. Although, in my opinion, the best song on this CD was clearly "Are You Alright?" I feel this song hit a higher level and made it a tough act to follow. "Mama You Sweet," came in a distant 2nd... more info
Customer Review: This is a blues album. It's both beautiful and raw and touches that part of you where old flames lie. I find her voice so unique and emotional. It's perfect for the type of music she writes. I don't know about it being "too honest". Sometimes that's the kind of music you want to hear. I love the... more info
Customer Review: I had hardly heard of Lucinda Williams when I saw this cd in the bargain bin at my local supermarket! The name rang a bell, but I had never heard her music. I bought it on a whim, and the instant I put it in I knew it would be one of my favorite albums. The woman's voice is staggeringly sexy. Her... more info
Customer Review: I was shocked to see hardly any reviews for Sweet Old World. This is one of her best albums and in my opinion just as good as Car Wheels on A Gravel Road. Not a bad song on the album. Any fan of Lucinda will not be disappointed.
Customer Review: I've been a Lucinda fan for many years. In my mind "Car Wheels on a Gravel Road" was her finest hour. I kept buying the studio albums up through this release ... and then I gave up. Honestly, I find the collection of songs on this concert collection very boring and lethargic. Certainly not the sort... more info
Customer Review: More stripped down then Car Wheels and unlike Car Wheels only 90% of its songs are 10s but that 90% is so much more then any of its peers can give you.
Customer Review: This little-known early album showcases a much more country, much more raw Lucinda Williams. It is not as great as her follow up self-titled album or Car Wheels on a Gravel Road, but it is very good in its own right and has some great songs, particularly the title track, Lafayette and the original,... more info
Customer Review: I have all Lucinda Williams' albums (I think) and this was the latest one I bought. And I must say I like much more her own material than these cover versions. Lucinda has obvious talent and a personal voice but the songs on this album are not so special. There are pearls among the material but... more info
