Different.. The Chase is on!!!:
This book is one of the best books I have read. I read this in a week. It was hard to put down. It wasn't your typical Alex Cross book (thank god). He shows determination to catch a mass murderer. Alex gets his ass whooped trying to solve this murder and in the interim discovers the bigger picture. He discovers Nigeria; kids murdering, raping and stealing. JP depicts that Alex is human by showing affection for another woman. Even the best gets tested every now and then. I am halfway done with I, Alex Cross
Book Received Not In New Condition:
I expect books in perfect condition when I purchase them from Amazon. The jacket to this book looked rather worn. I was surprised since this was the first time this had happened.
158 "CHAPTERS" in 403 pages??!!:
The dimensions are correct, but "448 pages"? My Vision reprint copy has only 427 pages (403 pages devoted to the story, the balance being 'previews'). I found the story content only fair to poor (and a lesson for me to avoid newer Patterson books and stick with his much earlier editions). What I found especially disturbing for a short novel, was it having no less than ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY-EIGHT chapters!!! Each chapter has one to two pages of 'blank' page, so it's easy to see that 403 pages of... more info
