The first section offers, in his own words, Aucoin's favorite ideas, tricks, and techniques for enhancing, defining, and altering facial features with makeup. Great for Inspiration:

I was excited to receive this book since I had always admired Kevyn Aucoin's amazing work. I thought the introduction to the book was wonderful. For me, as a how-to guide the book falls short (yes, even with the explanations and drawings). Somehow I cannot get my make-up to ever look like the photos. But as a book to draw inspiration from this is a great book! I am glad that Aucoin's work and legacy can be preserved with this publication (and with his other books as well).

Best makeup book around!:

I not only purchased this book for myself but I have also given it as a gift. I love it and the person I gave it to was overjoyed! It is the bed makeup book I have ever read and I would recommend it to anyone!

You can teach an old dog new tricks:

This book is very informative and fun to read as well. Kevyn has many faces in this book, some famous and some friends. Wonderful before and after pictures with nice stories about each person.Nice stories about how each person met Kevyn, or feels about him. Photos of everyday, evening and extreme makeup. Shots of famous faces Kevyn turned into other famous faces (Lisa Marie Presley as Marilyn Monroe). Very easy to follow the steps needed to create whatever you are looking for. Fantastic:

I absolutely LOVED this book. As a cosmetologist Im always looking to see dramatic changes in make up as well as something subtle to be warn everyday or for a wedding. This book has it all (more of the everyday type stuff and not very many dramatic looks though). It gives you a ton of illistrations on how to apply as well as the finished photo and great step by step instructions on achieving the looks shown. Its great even if youre not a professional. I would HIGHLY recommend this book for beginners as well... more info
