They Say/I Say: The Moves That Matter in Academic Writing

Editorial Review:

Identifying the moves that matter in academic writing in ways that students can readily understand and apply. "They Say / I Say" shows that writing well means mastering some key rhetorical moves, the most important of which involves summarizing what others have said ("they say") to set up one's own argument ("I say"). In addition to explaining the basic moves, this book provides writing templates that show students explicitly how to make these moves in their own writing. .

Awesome:

I wish I had this title just before starting college--my reading and writing skills would have been more engaging and fulfilling. After reading "They Say I say" I now understand the real benefit to having a conversation with a text. The authors thought me that all text is a conversation already in process. They further thought me how to be mindful of the point of view of others, in this conversation and how to find my own voice in it. I will remain eternally grateful for their efforts in this endeavor.more info

This is a Fantastic Book:

For anyone who reads/writes/teaches in academic style - this is a true gem of a book. Easy to understand, clever & most of al - HELPFUL. I may require it for my students.

Textbooks:

I used it briefly to refamiliarize myself with how to write in college, it served its purpose and it is really elementary.

They Say/I Say:

I received the book very quickly. From what the seller described the condition, I expected it to be in worse shape than what it was. They had something like Fair condition, but to me, it was in great condition. Even though the book was used, there was no worn pages, and absolutely no writing or markings in the book. I would recommend this seller to others.
Thanks!
