Customer Reviews: Avg. Customer Rating: 3.5 / 5.0 Complex comic:
If you loved the previous LOEGs, I wouldn't recommend it.: I appreciate the out there style of The League, but this is a bit rediculouse. This issue not only feels like you've never read the series before but it makes you wonder if you really want the next installment. Not only that but where the previous two iterations sort of hinted at sexual endevours and this issue does a olympic style dive into sexual literature. I appreciate how Moore's books give you a break from the illustrations to fill in the story, but this one is half novel and that is not what I think... Visually stimuatling but narrative is a mess: "The Black Dossier" gives readers more of Alan Moore's 'League of Extraordinary Gentlemen,' storyline and lore to absorb and their are some standpoint aspects of this book, primarily from Kevin O'Neill's intricate artwork. On the writing side, however, the narrative will likely trigger a 'love/hate' response. While the main storyline (focusing on Allan Quartermain and Mina Muuray) is told through a straightforward comic book style narrative, interspersed throughout are portions of the infamous "Black... Is this the end?: I enjoyed reading the lastest entry to the League line up. I enjoyed the continued romance of Mina and Allan. It was fun to have some background on other League members but not essential to the story development.
