Product Description: ***Featuring a Foreword by J.K. Rowling***
The Harry Potter Books Were Just the Beginning of the Story. . .
During the brief span of just one decade, hundreds of millions of perfectly ordinary people made history: they became the only ones who would remember what it was like when the Harry Potter saga was still unfinished. What it was like to seek out friends, families, online forums, fan fiction, and podcasts to get a fix between novels. When the death of a character was a hotter bet than the World Series. When the unfolding story of a boy wizard changed the way books are read for all time.
And as webmistress of The Leaky Cauldron, one of the most popular Harry Potter sites on the Internet, Melissa Anelli had a front row seat to it all. Whether it was helping Scholastic stop leaks and track down counterfeiters, hosting live PotterCasts at bookstores across the country, touring with the wizard rock band Harry and the Potters, or traveling to Edinburgh to interview J. K. Rowling personally, Melissa was at the center of the Harry Potter tornado, and nothing about her life would ever be the same.
The Harry Potter books are a triumph of the imagination that did far more than break sales records for all time. They restored the world's sense of wonder, and took on a magical life of their own. Now the series has ended, but the story is not over. With remembrances from J. K. Rowling's editors, agents, publicists, fans, and Rowling herself, Melissa Anelli takes us on a personal journey through every aspect of the Harry Potter phenomenon--from his very first spell to his lasting impact on the way we live and dream.

Good read:
I enjoyed the book. It was interesting to hear about Harry Potter from a fan's view and to know that the books are just as entertaining to adults as children. I'm glad I'm not alone being an adult Potter fan.
Have to give Anelli a "D" on her O.W.L.s*:
I really wanted to like this book. But, if you spend 8 hours over two days with the author of the most anticipated work of fiction in history; the woman who was responsible for a revolution in reading among schoolchildren, you would think J.K. Rowling would have more to say about the experience than, "We couldn't stay on topic." (You and Jo are BFFs - I get it already. Now where's the story?) Sorry, I expected more from a pro. *I would have given her a "T", but she managed to work in the word... more info
Great read!:
I loved the book. I laughed and cried. It was hard to put down. I felt it really told the story for us adult fans who feel a little funny about loving HP as much as we do, but gave ourselves over to it because we couldn't resist.
GREAT BOOK! "History" is perfect title! Enjoyed almost as much as series!!!!:
WOW! This is a great book - very entertaining! I read it in one day! Saturday is my "tv" day but once I picked up this book on Saturday morning there was no putting it down! Years from now this will be a great "history" of how J.K. Rowling fans spent over a decade of our lives! All Harry Potter fans should read this book. I will give it a honored place on my bookshelf right next to the seven in the series, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them / Quidditch Through the Ages, The Tales of Beedle the Bard and... more info
