Americans spend $440 billion eating out at restaurants each year, and as the American culture is increasingly on the go, we let diets fall by the wayside as we fuel up on fast food and convenience foods. Now, with The South Beach Diet Dining Guide, dieters will have a trusted resource to keep them on track wherever they go.
The first part of the book features listings of over 75 of the most popular chain and family restaurants in America, including mall and airport listings. For each entry, the book provides an editorial overview and specific menu recommendations and nutritional information. The South Beach Diet Dining Guide focuses on what you can eat, not what you should avoid! The second part of the book covers suggestions on what to eat from different ethnic food categories, such as French, Italian, Mexican, Spanish, Indian, and Japanese.
A bonus section for the business traveler will include an editorial overview and menu suggestions from South Beach-friendly restaurants in 15 of the most well-traveled cities: New York; Los Angeles; San Francisco; Boston; Chicago; Atlanta; Dallas; Cleveland; New Orleans; Kansas City; Minneapolis; Miami; Washington, DC; St. Louis; and Las Vegas.

South Beach Restaurant guide:
For one working with the South Beach Diet, the book is a great bible for "eating out". Keep it in the car before selecting your dining plan.
Wish I'd Had This Earlier!:
This guide is better than Weight Watcher's although for a different purpose and diet. Wish I'd had it when it first came out.
Pretty much pointless...:
I LOVE South Beach and have been extremely happy with most of the other books. That said, this one just didn't measure up for me. I don't live in one of the 15 major cities listed in the "travel dining" section of the SBD Dining Guide (that portion alone might have been helpful) and personally found the book to be a waste of money. The same principles regarding food selection are available in resources you probably already have- the South Beach Diet Supercharged book and a chain restaurant's website under... more info
Great diet, but it's more fun to be fat!:
OK, not really. The South Beach Diet books are all terrific. Eating this cuisine is a bit expensive, but, if you follow it, you WILL lose weight! And the food is good. (OK, not really as good as Aunt Martha's home cookin', but good. And you'll probably be thinner and live longer, if not happier.)
