In The Solitary Summer, she focuses on a summer filled with rejuvenation in the midst of a search for finding indenity and meaning in her life. Successful in life with marriage and children, the main character finds that she need to find herself as she feels a large void in her life. This is an excellent book for those who are fans of the works of Elizabeth Von Arnim and for individuals who have read Elizabeth and Her German Garden.

This book captivated both me and my best friend. The issue of the book I read was printed in 1907 and is titled The Solitary Summer by the author of "Elizabeth and her German Garden". Nowhere else in the book does it ever reveal the author's name. The book starts out with a dedication "To the man of Wrath with some apologies and much love".
