standard type of lonely planet guide, helpfull if you plan on visiting many places in the US.
Pretty detailed book for planning a trip:
I found this book very usefull planning my trip in San Francisco with it's suburbs, valleys and antional parks, Las Vegas and Grand Canyon national park. I found everything I needed: places to see, hotels, links on internet.
Expected more:
I bought the Let's Go Mexico last December and I really liked it. It contains a lot of tips, especially for backpackers. In Mexico everyone had a Loneley Planet, so I thought it must be really good. Despite my good experience with Let's Go, I bought the Lonely Planet for my trips in the USA. And I am really disappointed. The most useful things are the maps which are not the best. It doesn't contain any special tips. The description of the sights is very minimal and doesn't give much insights. On the other... more info
