Regularly described as the "world's most advanced corkscrew!" The Vacuvin WineMaster will effortlessly uncork bottles in seconds without any twisting or pulling. Operating is simple. The WineMaster is equipped with a bottle grip that locks the corkscrew on to the bottle to leave both hands free for easy use. Moving handles with a smooth and easy action, the WineMaster both inserts the specially coated spiral and extracts the cork. To open your bottle: 1. Cut Foil 2. Grip Bottle 3. Insert Spiral 4. Lift Cork 5. Remove Cork
It's another wonder of modern technology from the folks at Vacu Vin: this corkscrew stands head and shoulders above any similar model. The tiny foil cutter stores in the top of the machine--just pop it out, squeeze gently over the top of the foil, and the foil falls right off. Next, insert the cork into the bottom of the Winemaster, with all four handles in the upright position. The corkscrew inserts itself when you pull the two smaller handles down, and you lift the cork by pulling the two larger handles. The last step: just raise all four handles again to pull out the cork--no yanking or twisting necessary! For the occasional extra-long cork, you may need to perform the steps twice--but it's still far easier than other corkscrews. You'll want to open wine just as an excuse to show off this cool gadget. Best Corkscrew I have used:
We have had this now for about 4 months. It has worked perfectly. It is amazingly smooth and effortless. There is great mechanical advantage with this device so pulling a cork is easy, and it seems well balanced with handles on both sides. It releases the cork smoothly as well. The foil cutter is very functional and stores on top of the corkscrew body. It is fairly large, but takes up less space than our previous rabbit (Metrokane Vertical Rabbit Lever Style Corkscrew with Foil Cutter, Velvet Black) since... more info
Good Balance:
I bought this for my wife because she has problems with "rabbit" style pullers. This is much easier for her to use. The one thing that takes some getting use to is you must securely lock the vacu vin onto the wine bottle before trying to use it. It is bigger than it looks. Once you get the hang of the sequence of movements, it's very easy to use. The foil cutter is more of a nusiance than a tool.
Better than all the rest:
We've had most every kind of bottle opener you can think of and this is by far the best. It takes less space on the counter than the "rabbit" styles. It works on either real or synthetic corks. There is a little bit of a learning curve to new users but it's really a great device. I never liked the foil cutters we had until we got the one on the Vacu Vin Winemaster corkscrew. It is quite easy to use, works well, and has a neat little slot to hold it on top of the corkscrew.
A Modern Technical Marvel:
I am a wine purist. I prefer real corks, glass bottles, and I open my wine with a waiter's key--the old fashioned way. But I take for granted that I have been naturally endowed with huge, strong hands. My girlfriend, alas, does not possess this gift. What to do? Originally I thought I could just open all the wine for her. When she threatened to buy one of those ugly, non-elegant electric corkscrews, I knew something had to be done.
The VacuVin Winemaster allows even small, weak-handed girls such as... more info
