The Porter-Cable US58 1/4-Inch to 5/8-Inch, 22-Gauge C-Crown Upholstery Stapler is an easy to use pneumatic stapler with plenty of useful features. It uses standard Senco C Type 22-gauge, 3/8-inch crown staples to get the job done right, and it includes a 1-inch nose extension for those tough to reach areas. The high-capacity bottom-load magazine handles 185 staples, and the driver guide moves back to easily clear jams from the magazine. The US58 stapler requires 70-120 PSI air pressure, so it will work with most air compressors.

Lots of products out there to meet this need. Porter's unit is well built, feels solid, easy to operate, and a great entry price-point. I'm not a professional upholstery fabricator, I'm re-doing my boat upholstery and am using this unit with my Porter-Cable compressor, using 3/8" x 3/8" stainless steel staples and it's been great. Like any well made product the Porter Cable Upholstery Stapler is absolutely a delight to use. The 1" long extension is a must for anyone working on upholstery projects. We used it recently on some oak chairs using 3/8" fine wire staples from Amazon at 70psi. Follow the instructions and you should have no problems.
Performed Flawlessly:
Have done various reupholstering projects through the years and had always hand stapled. What a difference this this tool made! It reduced the time required to complete the project and greatly improved the quality of the work. It did not "misfire" once. It is lightweight and easy to use. I highly recommend the tool, at least for home use.
