This is an amazing little charger that literally breathes new life into your failing DeWalt batteries. It revitalizes everything from 9.6 volts through the big 18-volters, but what's so great about this charger is that not only can it be used as a standard quick charger, but if you leave a worn-down battery in for four to 10 hours, the charger conditions the battery with a tune-up mode, and at completion, it automatically converts to trickle charge, so you'll never damage a battery by leaving it in the charger too long.
Diagnostics with LED indicators give you the battery status at a glance: charged, charging, power line problem, replace pack, and battery too hot or too cold. It's got a small footprint, which is always a plus, and the price is look-twice-and-rub-your-eyes cheap.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste

Another satisfied firestorm 18V user...:
Just got this charger (the black one pictured here - not the updated yellow model) for my old B&D firestorm 18V drill as I was desperate. I really like this old drill and didn't want to sort through all of the junk drills on the market today to try to find a good one and decided to risk it since the cost is not bad. I had read other reviews which said that it would work on firestorm 18V batteries. Well it does work, and great and I'm really pleased. This brought one of my dead ps145 batteries back to... more info
Firestorm PS145 Type 3 18V Battery owners BEWARE:
The charger works great and the seller I got it from shipped it on time. However, this review is for anyone that owns a Firestorm PS145 18V battery. Just beware. I bought this charger and said battery (http://www.amazon.com/Black-Decker-PS145-18-Volt-Battery/dp/B0000302V2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=hi&qid=1281753974&sr=8-1) for my father who recently told me that his Firestorm battery and charger were fried (though it had been busted for a few years but I was not home at the time as I was... more info
Work OK:
I inherited a Firestorm drill and a box full of batteries but the Black & Decker charger that was in the box was shot and would not charge any of the batteries. After reading some reviews, I went ahead and purchased this charger to see if it would work on any of the old batteries.
The first couple batteries I tried were giving me the fast flash indicator which means throw them away and buy new ones. The rest of them all took a charge but on a couple of them, the charge would not last more than a... more info
this one is out in my book:
I bought two of these here about six months ago and today a firestorm battery killed both of them. I did buy another from a co worker today but beware of this one.
