Large enough to hold a massive turkey, two chickens, or a family-size prime rib, this 16-1/2-inch roasting pan withstands oven heat to 700 degrees F and is safe for metal utensils. It comes with a nonstick rack that lifts food off the pan's bottom for uniform, all-around roasting while preventing a turkey's back from boiling in pan juices. Because it's nonstick, the rack won't pull off pieces of the bird's browned skin. Made of anodized aluminum, the pan is harder than steel and conducts heat evenly whether it's baking lasagna or caramelizing a roast's pan juices. A life-saver at Thanksgiving and Christmas:

The Calphalon 16 1/2 inch roasting pan is wonderful to use! This is the first of several Calphalon items I have used, and I'm now in the process of upgrading all my cookware to Calphalon.
At first I was afraid to use a surface that was not non-stick- for many years my specialty was macaroni and cheese (usually overcooked). But recently the cooking bug has hit me, so I purchased this roasting rack at the recommendation of my dad, who has a set of the professional hard-anodized.

What Is Gravy, That Thou Art Mindful of It?:

I have a heavy clad stainless steel roasting pan that costs 5 times as much as this. That little expenditure was most definately a mistake. There's something about this heavy aluminum that makes a great gravy. And clean up is just as easy as with 18/10 stainless.

Calphalon is the best all around cookware, in my opinion, especially for the money. This is the last roaster you will ever buy.
