The Cuisinart automatic 12-cup coffee maker uses the same brewing system found in commercial coffeemakers so you can be assured of getting a truly satisfying cup of coffee. With its 12-cup capacity, you can bet the other 11 cups are going to be equally tasty. Easy to clean Gold Filter with easy swing-out basket Brew Pause Color - Black with brushed stainless-steel accents
Strikingly retro in brushed stainless-steel with black-plastic accents, this 12-cup coffeemaker includes Cuisinart's best brewing technology and premium features for ease and flexibility. The digital clock/timer is programmable for automatically brewing "wake-up" coffee at a selected time and for turning off the warming plate up to four hours in advance. Removing the glass carafe from the warming plate automatically pauses the brewing process for a quick pour, and the warming plate's temperature can be adjusted. For maximum flavor, the machine can be set to brew one to four 5-ounce cups or five to twelve cups, and it includes a charcoal water filter. For convenience, a permanent Gold Tone filter eliminates messy paper filters and an indicator-light shows when decalcification is needed. The coffeemaker measures 14-1/4 inches high, 8 inches wide, and 10-3/4 inches deep (including carafe handle) and carries a three-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

Solid!:
This is a solid coffee maker, brewing coffee according to the strength you want from a few cups to a whole pot. It warms the coffee without cooking it or letting it remain tepid. You can also program it for the exact time you reach for a cup in the morning.
I am not sure why anyone has a complaint:
I read the reviews and I am not sure why anyone has a problem. I have not had any of the issues that others have. I guess maybe it's the coffee I use but I have not had any grounds in my coffee. Also one reviewer complained there wasn't an external view of the reservoir so you couldn't see the amount of water you put int. There is one on the craft and unlike other coffee pots I have owned this one is pretty accurate. If you need 6 cups the fill the craft to the 6 cup line or slightly above and that's what... more info
Really Good Coffee over and over again:
We have worn out three of these fantastic coffee makers. Normally, we will drink about 5 pots of coffee a day and this pot has not let us down one time. It takes about 1 minute per cup which is just enough time in the morning to let the dogs out and by the time they return it is ready for the first batch. We find the filling a bit of a chore. In the beginning getting the right amount of water in the little chute was a tad awkward but now we are used to it. The gold filter works well as does the #4 paper... more info
two design flaws with this coffeemaker:
I've owned this coffeemaker for a year now and have discovered that while it makes a good cup of coffee it has two design flaws. The water intake chamber and the filter chamber are placed so close to where you pour the coffee into the cone that grounds tend to "spill" into those chambers unless you are very very careful. I can imagine that over time this could clog up the water system within. Here's a little test to see if it's happening to you. Fill the water chamber then pour it out into a clear pitcher.... more info
