Bummer!:

I was disappointed by this product. It takes such a long time to get this thing up and running! First, you have to wash the thing by hand -- no dishwasher (??) -- then soak the filter for 15 minutes. Then you have to rinse the filter. Then you have to make and discard two while pitchers of water, which takes a looooong time. I had finally gotten down to my second pitcher (*whew*) when I tilted the pitcher just a little bit to the side, and wham! the filter fell out, right down into my garbage disposal.... more info

design flaws:

As another reviewer commented, the old one was better. There is a gaping hole at the spout where flies can get in. All the other models have a flap there. Overall the quality doesn't seem to be as good as the older models.

Soot is left in the bottom of pitcher--not my idea of "pure":

I could no longer stand the smell and taste of chlorination in the city water, so I bought this Brita pitcher and some replacement filters. The water from the pitcher tastes just like water should taste (not like much!). However, as some other reviews have noted, there are fine dark specks at the bottom of my pitcher. Handy Dandy:

I am happy with this little pitcher. My previous Brita Deluxe pitcher was 10+years old, and I figured it was time for a replacement. I like the round shape of the Brita Classic. I don't keep my water in the refrigerator; I keep it on my kitchen counter. The Deluxe pitcher is heavier and actually a bit harder for me to handle with one hand than the Classic model.
