Though most tap water in the United States is considered good there may be chlorine and mineral deposits that can effect the taste or odor. You can haul bottled water from the supermarket or you can use the Brita water filter pitcher to filter, store and pour your drinking water. Additional filters may be purchased as BIR 35501 or BIR 35503

Pitcher does what you expect, but...:
The pitcher works just fine and long as you understand you must let ALL the water drain thru filter before attempting to pour out filtered water.

clean water I can now taste. I had other pitchers before, but I love this one much better. I don't understand why some people reviewed this one not that great. I bought actually two and my mom gave me another one, which was a little too many, so I am selling one now.

I have purchased this Brita water filter about 4 months ago and have experienced all of the negative aspects as the other reviewers. The top fits far too loosely, the flap that covers the water spout sticks, and the filter doesn't fit tight enough so you get little charcoal particles in all of your drinks (isn't that the point of a water filter, taking contaminants out?).
