Think of it as water filtration for dummies. You don't even need to keep an eye on the calendar, the electronic sensor lets you know with a flashing arrow when it's time to change filters. Not to mention this system sure beats the heck out of paying for and lugging home gallon after gallon of water.
Brita's advanced water filtering systems help remove chlorine, sediment, zinc, and other harmful substances such as cadmium, copper, benzene, lead, and mercury, for clean, great-tasting water. With a tank that holds up to 1.13 gallons of water and fits neatly on countertops and refrigerator shelves, the Ultramax Smart Dispenser is the perfect size for a small office or family. It comes with an innovative electronic gauge that helps monitor use and alert busy users when its time to replace the filter. An included, non-replaceable battery with an expected life of 5 years powers the gauge. Brita filters should be replaced every 40 gallons. The Ultramax should be hand washed in lukewarm water with a mild detergent. Brita offers a limited 90 day warranty on pitchers for defects outside of normal wear and tear. --Jessica Reuling

Great tasting water, easy to clean, long-term use:
We have been using the Brita 35530 Ultramax Dispenser for almost two years now, and we love it! We drink a normal amount of water, but we also prefer to use filtered water for making tea, cooking rice and other foods that absorb much of the cooking water. Our pitcher sits on the counter next to our fridge. My wife prefers room-temperature water, and I regularly fill up large glass bottles to refrigerate water for myself. The good: * Large size, holds a lot of water compared to pitchers

Don't drink the kool-aid.:
No, the title of this review isn't warning you about making kool-aid in a water purifier. Rather to tell the truth about carbon filters. They don't go bad. They had great big tanks full of sand and carbon to filter out a bunch of little nasties that you and your tap water can't even imagine. When the flow was... more info
The filter is as good as a Pur:
I bought this to replace the pur filter that I broke. Problems; the water spout does not allow all the water out because it set high above the bottom, and it is easy for alge to form. Have to fill often because it does not emty all the way. Filters are cheap and doesn't last very long.
