Cheap plastic lid ....hinges broke after two mouths......:
Love this pitcher. However only had it for two months and the chip plastic hinges on the top that opens and close BROKE. Cheap plastic. Just broke off. I do not want to wrap the darn thing up and send it back.
I hate it when you by something and it falls apart. I can see the lid is attached with a plastic hinge that breaks very easily. I guess we are stuck with it for awhile.

this is perfect. fits in the fridge & doesn't take of space. much better than buying all those plastic bottles of water.
Horrible design:
I have been using Brita pitchers for almost 15 years, and have used quite a few different ones. Recently I had to replace one (which got dropped and cracked). There were only a couple of models available in our local Kroger store, so I ended up with this model. And I have been cursing Brita ever since. Makes a big mess.:
I've been a big fan of Brita over the years, but this model (as other reviews have mentioned) has been somewhat disappointing. It makes a mess when you pour. The little flap located at the mouth of the pour spout is likely there to prevent creepy crawlies from getting in, but the fit is so good that the flap doesn't open properly when the water rushes past.
