Perfect for Women who Want to Trim:
I have used a gas trimmer years ago and recall trying to pull the cord to get it to start. Not good for someone with a bad back. I love this trimmer. I have had it for over a season and it works great on my pseudo landscaped quarter acre. Don't expect it to do well on very thick stalks or "weed whacking" as we call it on the farm, but it's great for small trimming. Girls, if you have a husband, make him decide on which trimmer to buy but for yourself, you will love this. I do have to use both battery packs... more info
Hardly cuts grass at all:
I have numerous Black and Decker Cordless items and thought this might fit my needs at work. Have a 10 X 20 patch of grass in front and not worth getting a mower for. This just did nothing. I used a battery up and hardly cut any grass at all. Can't give it away. It sits waiting for one of my children to have a garage sale.
Poor battery life, but lightweight:
Pros: light, easy to carry, no cord, not as noisy and gas-powered

I bought this based on the other positive reviews I saw here, and I have not been disappointed. My yard is a little over 1/2 acre and includes several flower beds, trees, storage shed, etc which all need to be trimmed around whenever I mow. It's a good thing this comes with two batteries for this size of yard, since the first battery starts to noticeably slow down after about 2/3 of the job.
