Pretty cheap plastic on 1st inspection:
I've recently purchased this item and expected (from the great reviews) that it would be a great product. Pulling it out of the box I noticed it was a cheaply made plastic frame wrapped around a pendulum with lasers attached to it. If it drops on the ground you are out of luck. If it was put together better it could be dropped and still work fine. For 100$ it is basically some plastic parts + internals that should cost 5$ at the most. Ordered this product and received it within days! Have not used it for any "projects", but we just bought a house so I expect it to come in handy when installing tile or installing a dropped ceiling in the basement!

It is dead on accurate and will project a clean vertical, horizontal or both line anywhere you want. The included base allows you to make adjustments to the horizontal position and small adjustments to the vertical position. Just plop it down on something that is about the right height and you're in business. See below for a better alternative.
