Poor Quality:
Like others, mine worked for a little over a year, and now the fan will no longer spin. I try hard to buy quality stuff so that I don't have to throw it out or buy another replacement product, but clearly Vornado has a quality problem. I will never buy another product made by Vornado again. Nice design but clearly a poor selection of internal components.

Using a Vornado in an open room:
The Vornado has a harder time warming the air in an open room. My living room is open to a hallway and the dining room, so the Vornado by itself would be fighting a losing battle. But if I run a small ceramic heater on one side of the room and the Vornado catty-corner on the other side I can create a warm area to sit in during the evening.
