WOULDNT BUY AGAIN:
My printer is only 7 months old and gets moderate use. I paid $89.99 for it and it now needs a new drum which costs $116.00. It consistently calls for paper, however paper is in the tray.
I would not recommend this product or buy a Brother again.
Solid Workhorse:
Has been a solid performer for me for 18 months. Seems to use toner at a reasonable rate - I buy the recycled ones from Office Depot without a problem. As with most network printers, the web interface to configure it can be slow and limiting, and counter intuitive (hardware makers don't usually make good software, and vice versa) but once I got it set up I've not really had to worry about it. Can crash - turn off and on to reboot:
Printer works fine for me -printing things. My only complaint is every few months print jobs don't do through, and I have to turn the printer off and on again. Then it will print my jobs. There aren't any firmware updates from what tech support told me. Using it with Mac OS 10.4.11
Good Printer:
Love this printer. Great for basic B&W prints. Good price for a laser printer! Also, good aftermarket toner to be found for this printer.
