The Griffin Technology 002-TJUICE TuneJuice Battery Backup for iPod and iPod mini from Griffin Technology protects you from that ugly moment on the road when, just as you're rocking along to your favorite song, your iPod's battery expires, and you're left singing the rest of the song by yourself. TuneJuice is powered by a standard 9-volt battery, giving it enough juice to power your drained iPod for up to four hours, and power your partially charged iPod for up to eight extra hours. You can use TuneJuice to give added life to any dockable iPod or iPod mini.

Great add-on for a video capable iPod.:
Watching video on an iPod drains the batteries pretty quickly. I normally use a Tekkeon rechargeable Lirhium Ion external battery pack with my iPod and other small electronics. Piece of crap:
I purchased this product as a backup power source for my iPod, since I travel frequently and don't always have a chance to recharge. I tried it yesterday for the first time on a flight back to Boston from Frankfurt. I used the batteries that came with the TuneJuice and got no more than around 10 minutes of additional additional play time (it's supposed to give 14 hours of audio playtime). Thinking that the supplied batteries might have been old, I replaced them with four new batteries only to find them... more info
Wouldn't leave home without it! (Seriously!):
I frequently travel to Africa for work and the flight from DC to South Africa is about 18 hours, not to mention the 2- to 6-hour intercontinental flights. My TuneJuice has been an absolute lifesaver on these long flights. A few 9-volt batteries kept my old 80GB and new 120GB video Ipods going for hours and hours. I have given 3 as gifts and recently bought myself a second one since I see TuneJuice 1 is being phased out and I would hate to travel without it. I'm not sure what happened to the 1-star... more info
Go for TuneJuice2:
I ordered this and then realized that there is a TuneJuice 2!!! The TJ2 works off AAA batteries and works MUCH longer. It will give you a much better back up.
