Budget vacuum works great:
For a budget budget vacuum cleaner, I cannot complain at all. It vacuums so well that the rotating brush actually pulls the vacuum forward. I really like the switch within reach of my hand since my last dirt devil forced me to use my foot to turn on the power. Medium weight and noise. I only have three minor issues: (1) the cord hooks are oddly placed so that you have to wrap the cord over the utility tools. Good performance, questionable longevity:
This is the second Hoover U5140-900 that I've owned. The first one performed well, but mysteriously stopped working after about 1 year. It would get hot and make a strange noise. Given the price of the vacuum, it didn't make sense to have it repaired, and after looking at other vacuums that rated similarly on Consumer Reports, I decided to give Hoover another chance since I can get a new one of these vacuums every couple years cheaper than buying a different more expensive vacuum. I was very satisfied with the vacuum cleaner. I was apprehensive about buying on-line, but after I received the vacuum, I changed my mind. Despite being so light, it is a powerful cleaner, and it is very easy to maneuver.The price was right, and I would definitely recommend this cleaner to friends.
