Strong, Serrated Blade Can Be Used in All Situations Whether you need to cut firewood, build a shelter, or slice through a seat belt, the LMF II survival knife has you covered. It was designed to adapt to a wide variety of situations, so you'll never have to worry whether you have the right knife.
Unique Buttcap Can Pierce Glass In addition to the blade end of the knife, Gerber also gave the LMF II a unique, pointed buttcap that is made of stainless steel. This heavy end can be used to pierce glass in the event you need to egress from a helicopter or other vehicle. The buttcap features a smart design that is physically separated from the tang in order to offer shock absorption when it's used as a hammer and also to prevent electrical shock.
Smart, Versatile, Comfortable Design The LMF II features an overmolded handle, which helps prevent hand blisters and provides a secure grip. It is also designed with lashing holes, allowing it to be converted into a spear and extending its usability. The black color keeps you inconspicuous while you are out on night-time missions.
Sheath Included with Built-In Sharpener A low-profile sheath is included and it features a built-in carbide sharpener. The stainless steel blade can withstand a ton of abuse, but if it ever gets damaged or needs sharpening, you won't be stuck out in the open with a dull knife. The sheath facilitates movement and attaches to a belt or MOLLE vest.
Gerber's History of Ingenuity Savvy. Moxie. Craftsmanship. Attention to detail. These are just a few of the company traits that contributed to Gerber's emergence as a world leader in outdoor gear. Joseph Gerber started Portland, Oregon's Gerber Advertising back in 1910, and one Christmas, he hired a local knife-maker to craft 25 sets of kitchen cutlery as client gifts. The knives were so popular, Mr. Gerber ultimately left his agency to launch Gerber Legendary Blades in 1939.
For more than half a century, Gerber Legendary Blades has been helping people fend for themselves. Gerber designs popular, dependable tools and knives along with other outdoor gear that helps users accomplish whatever tasks they may be faced with, promoting the lost art of self-reliance.

Super knife, best knife:
I've read reviews about this knife before purchasing it, and the negative ones were complaining about the bulkiness and weight of the knife. IT"S AN INFANTRY SURVIVAL KNIFE, NOT A POCKET KNIFE. The knife IT"S NOT HEAVY...the weight is perfect, the strap and sheath are comfortable over long pants (who goes in the woods in shorts, shouldn't be in the woods in the first place:) It's the best knife I bought..and compared to $99.00 at Cabela's this knife is a steal for approx 65-70 bucks. Love it,... more info
One of the strongest knives ever.:
I have had this knife for about six months and I think it the strongest knife I own and I have 218 knives. This knife is well balenced and it has a good sheath for military use. The sheath is not good for normal use becous the knife is really hard to get out even for me and I am about six feet tall and weigh 250. I am making a custom leather sheath for it. I use this knife every day around my farm and it is still razor sharp. The serrated section of the blade is long enough to be usefull and still have a... more info
Monster of a knife!:
This is definitely a man's knife. I even use it to cut palm limbs in my yard. When in the brush, it can take down some serious branches and limbs in your way. It's big and may be a little too much for camping at the park, but if you go off the beaten path, this is your knife. You can literally use it as an axe to cut small trees. I gave it 4 starts because the rubber wears at the business end of the handle. It's from me chopping and slashing branches. I think I can put some clear epoxy on it or something to... more info
Solid Knife, great price:
I bought this knife because I have never owned a fixed blade knife. I usually end up buying the $5-$10 folding knives which work great for little things around the house. When I go hiking or camping, I am afraid to use the knives to their potential because I am afraid of it closing on my hand. THUS, I bought this Gerber LMFII as my go anywhere do anything knife. I use it like an axe/hammer/knife/machete/pry bar and never worry about its strength. High quality knife, great feel.
