The RC61ELW is amazingly accurate. It calibrates itself to the world's most accurate clock every night by receiving WWVB 60kHZ radio transmissions. These transmissions contain time information from the U.S. atomic clock source operated by the U.S. Commerce Department. The time can be displayed in 12-hour or 24-hour format, the month and date are displayed digitally in that order, and the weekday is displayed as a two-letter abbreviation in English, Spanish or French. Successful reception of the time-sychronization radio signal and signal quality are indicated by a radio tower and waves icon just above the clock's seconds display. After synchronization occurs, you can select your continental U.S. time zone, and a U.S. map icon in the upper line of the display indicates the selected time zone. This clock automatically also adjusts for Daylight Saving Time.
Almost anyone who travels can use and appreciate the Digiview RC61ELW. It's small enough to fit in a pocket or purse. And because the clock can be manually set, you can use it outside of WWVB range, in which case it functions as a highly accurate digital quartz clock. Not worth a penny:
I should have paid more attention to the other reviews before buying this clock. Please don't make the same mistake I did. First, there is NO manual clock setting on this clock. Yes, you can adjust the time yourself, but the atomic clock will override your setting in the middle of the night. There is nothing you can do to shut the atomic setting off. The perfect travel clock:
I have had several atomic clocks and this is the cheapest and best.
Plus:
- always syncs really fast, no matter where in the US I was
- good readability
- shows the time the alarm is set to without having to press a button - that is a big PLUS for me
- has + and - keys, so you can easily set the times
- good to read
- battery lasts forever
- shows temperature as an added plus
- folds up and is very protected

Great features and ultra-portable:
This clock packs a lot of useful features into very little space. The display is large and easy to read. The dual alarms are handy and the ability to configure the snooze interval is great. The radio time receiver has worked well everywhere I've tried it. And the whole unit folds down into a tiny package for transport. My wife uses ours as her regular nightstand clock as well as taking it on trips. Highly recommended!
Works well:
Setting the time and time zone may take 12-24 hours for the atomic clock to set the correct time if you miss one step in the set up instructions. Once set it give time temperature and is compact and easy to pack. The clock is easy to read.
