I bought this for a 6 week European trip so we (my two sons shared our rooms on the trip) had an alarm, a clock and a way to "cover up" the sound of my husband's snoring and the street noises. It was easy to pack. We tried to plug it in to the converter and it didn't run. Luckily, we had brought 4 new AAA batteries, but by the end of the first night, the new batteries had been sucked dry of their power. The clock was barely visible, too. The basic little clock radio I used for travel "died" and I had a hard time finding a replacement. The Conair SU5T had more features than I was looking for...but I thought I'd give it a try. At first, all the buttons overwhelmed me...but I found the instructions easy to follow. Also, the sound therapy was not something I was familiar with, but now I am looking at it as a bonus that I will enjoy...especially the ability to either have a certain sound "on" all night...or to be able to set it to go "off" after... more info
What a traveling companion!:
I stayed in a timeshare a few months ago that had a larger bedside sound machine/alarm and loved it. The timeshare is near a small airport and past visits I found it tooks a few days to adjust to the noise of planes as I live in a remote area and am unused to sounds other than coyote calls. I found that using the sound machine gave me a good night's sleep from the first night.

could be better:
I got this after a long wait since I live out of the US and installed the batteries and expected to finally relax! But lo and behold every time I put the clock down it stopped working! After a lot of fiddling around I discovered that the batteries were not staying put. I put a little of the packing material in side the battery compartment as a cushion and that did the trick.
I'm annoyed that you cant use the light to see the time if you have the sleep timer on. I'm also annoyed that some of the sound... more info
