Scanner:
This scanner serves my needs for copying documents, creating .jpg images from pictures, slides or negatives, creating PDF documents and any other imaging requirements. The included software makes it easy to use and has never caused any false starts. Great product at a great price.

Easy to use, mostly:
I use it mostly for converting 35mm slides to jpgs. Sometimes, for some reason, the scanner treats the slides as negatives. You need to change the order of the slides in the holder to "fool" it back to the 35mm setting. Other than that, it's been great.
Exactly what I wanted, and a great buy:
I am extremely pleased with this scanner. I have scanned over 300 photos since I bought it a few weeks ago, and it has worked flawlessly. It is fast and easy and does an excellent job bringing my b/w family photos from the 1920s through 1950s back to life. It also does a terrific job on my newer color photos. I was surprised by the quality for under $100. I am using Windows XP Pro and had no problems with the software installation.
Handy slide scanner:
The Canon CanoScan 4400F works very well for digitizing your old color transparency images. The device is limited to scanning up to four images at one time, but that is probably faster than some of the other slide scanner devices.
