Coverage Information
The AppleCare Protection Plan is subject to terms and conditions, which are provided on the AppleCare Protection Plan website.
To qualify for the AppleCare Protection Plan, your product must be within its one-year Apple hardware warranty.
A separate AppleCare Protection Plan must be purchased for each Apple system to be covered.
Onsite service for desktop computers is available within a 50-mile (80-kilometer) radius of an Apple authorized onsite service provider in the country where the plan is purchased and enrolled.
The AppleCare Protection Plan covers an Apple keyboard and mouse when they are included with a covered product. An AirPort Extreme Card, an AirPort Express or AirPort Extreme Base Station, and Apple RAM are included in the coverage of the computer with which they are used.

Worth every Penny:

I have used AppleCare on my Intel iMac for the past 2 years and the support is excellent. They are patient with you and not only want you thru how to resole the issue but also explain how it "Actually" works. Takes a little time to figure out the protocol for the 1 on 1 training, vs Genius Bar, vs Apple Care support.
Once you do it will works pretty well. As for the the Apple Care, I will never buy a Mac without it.

Been a Mac guy for 8 years, love the computers hate the Apple Support.
Spent two hours on the phone with incredibly snooty techs. In the end I was told "it's not designed to share it's ethernet connection over it's Airport card". Uh- been doing it for 4 years with the old imac and emac. His analogy- Just because you can drive your Lamborghini on a dirt road doesn't mean it was designed to do it". That's great.... Got hung up too by Apple Support

Applecare and printer support:

I used the service a few days after receiving it and was gratified by the ease of using and accessing the computer support for a Time Capsule printer server software problem. This contrasts greatly with using customer support for other operating systems and software.

well worth buying:

I've had my macbook for almost three years now and I'm incredibly glad that I had the applecare protection. Whenever there's an issue I just take it over to the local apple reseller and they fix the problem or send it to Apple to fix at no cost and no hassle to me. I don't want to have to use it for my iMac, but I would rather have this protection than not.
