But together with a handful of fellow survivors, you might just fight your way to safety.Players can play as a Survivor or as one of four types of Boss Infected, each of whom possess a unique mutant ability, such as a 50-foot tongue lasso or a giant belly full of explosive methane gas. The gameplay of L4D is set across four massive campaigns. The zombie population of each mission is choreographed by an AI Director that monitors the human players' actions and creates a unique and dramatic experience for them on the fly.

The game requires an internet connection to connect to Steam in order to install the game, but this fact does not seem to be mentioned anywhere.
Don't pay attention to the given screenshots:
I love this game and have played it almost every day since I bought it. However, the screenshots are from the BETA of the game. I have no idea why they didn't update them. If you want up-to-date, accurate information, I'd go to the L4D Wikia. I highly advise reading the tips, required software, and overall feel of the game before buying it.
Excellent fun:
I been out of the PC games for a while but finally got back into it with Left4dead. It is a zombie apocalypse game (dawn of the dead, land of the dead etc ...) You will have all kinds of fun blasting those dirty, nasty zombies. It is so easy to connect to multiplayer via the internet. You can also easily use voice chat over the game (need a webcam microphone optional).

Left 4 Dead, is a great game. There are so many first person shooter games in the world being played (multiplayer) and i have to say I was once addicted to modern warfare...well now things have changed. positives: The game is very addictive, and fun, its fun to help out teammates, i think thats something valve has accomplished is the expectation of living is keeping your teammates alive.
