Network storage:
Slower transfer speeds than I expected. Can't really stream information (songs to the TV). ITunes doesn't like having its directory mapped to it.
Relegated it to a back up unit with dual 500GB drives.
Slow start-up:
It takes around 3min to start up. I found that while network interface is already up (ping goes), the web-interface and accessing filesystem (net use..) still does not work and I have to wait several minutes until beep signals it is ready.
Maybe I do something wrong? I am going to contact their support. The rest is OK (although transfer speed could be better than 3MB/s )

The second person is the person who has no technical... more info

The NAS can be configured to use USB drivers however, any drive used with this device must be formatted in the NAS proprietary format. This means that you can not put the drive in a PC and read the contents. This seems to be a standard with most of these kind of devices. Not a big problem unless the device fails and you want to get your data... more info
