Works like a charm!:
I have no complaints. Setup was easy with my new Sony Bravia. The picture quality is perfect on all my dvds. It's looks great. I do think it was a little lame that Sony didn't throw in a HDMI cable... Come on, they're only $4 Sony!! Yeah, that's my only complaint, but it's not worth the unit losing a star over.
Good player:
I bought this player from Circuit City on sale for 89.00 and it came in black. The picture is good but the upconverted pic on my Toshiba hd dvd player is better and I actually paid less for the Toshiba! All in all this is a definite bargain if you're in the market for an upconverting player. Setup is easy and straight forward and only takes about ten minutes before you're up and running. Also the size of this player is very small so it will fit in tight spaces.
i'm happy with it:
i received it in a timely fashion and in good condition. as to the product, i have no complaints. i use the dvd player with a sony kdl32xbr6 i just bought (which is beautiful, by the way). standard definition dvds look stellar-- i'd say every bit as good as HD channels from dish network. it might not be the best upscaling player, but i didn't want to invest too much in one as i'm kind of waiting for blu-ray competition to heat up, and for the prices to drop. i would recommend the product.
Where the value is (a player, visual and audio enhancer, and jukebox--all in one):
All that's separating this model from the same Sony currently costing $30-40 more is color. Amazon has managed to score a number of these silver players at good prices and is passing them on to the consumer. The player may be the slimmest and trimmest in the field (ignore the dimensions provided by Amazon--the player can't stand over 1 1/2").
