The DeWalt DC984B is a 1/2 inch 14.4V Heavy-Duty XRP Cordless Hammerdrill/Drill/Driver - Tool Only. It uses a DeWalt built high-torque, high efficiency motor to deliver 450 in-lbs of torque for drilling large diameter holes and driving large screws. The XRP drill comes equipped with a patented 3-speed transmission. The 3-speed option allows the drill to be set at the optimum speed range for the application being performed to maximize performance. The DC984 has a maximum speed of 1800 RPM which is 29% faster than high speed. The Cordless Hammerdrill/Drill/Driver also has a maximum BPM speed of 30600 BPM which allows for high performance drilling in masonry applications.

Chuck Wobble - Poor Service:

I received this drill-driver in a combination pack with a DeWalt impact driver. The DC984 drill-driver has a serious chuck wobble right out of the box. I tried it with several drill bits to ensure I didn't have a bent or damaged bit - it is definitely the chuck. My options are to send it back to the retailer (but I want and need the impact driver!) or get it to an authorized service center over one hundred miles away. I feel lucky to have stumbled across this website. I left my drill behind on the job and I was looking to have to spend 200+ dollars for a replacement. I had spare batteries and the charger so this was perfect in order to minimize my loss. The drill itself seemed new and I haven't had a problem with it yet. Thank you
