This little drive has never failed me. The U3 software needs to be removed, but everything else about it is great --and no cap to lose. I was compelled to write a review after my wife called me at work to inform me that she had just send my 8GB drive through the washing machine. I told her just to let it sit out and dry and I'd check it out in a few days. She said there was no need for that as it had also gone through the dryer. The next day I plugged it in to my mac and everything was still there intact. I... more info
It's a flashdrive alright.:
I've used this flash drive to transfer images, saves from various programs, mp3s and video files. The transfer rate could be faster but I've never had any other problems.
As for the Crudware, I never really noticed it. I like the retractable port as I hate dealing with lost lids and caps. The light up switch is very nice as well.
A little too wide, slide in and out feature is a cheap gimmick:
I like the size of the drive and the price was pretty good. So far the most important feature, the data transfer and storage have worked fine. However, I completely overestimated the usefulness of having the USB connector slide in and out. In order to achieve this, the manufacturer has had to make the plastic shell wider than typical USB flash drives. This drive encroaches on the adjacent USB port, making it harder to plugin a second USB device while this is running. The slider and plastic shell feel... more info
Died after 3 months:
I used this flash drive semi frequently for work. After 3 months it stopped working for no reason. I plugged it in, and no computer would recognize it. I searched all over the internet, and the only help I could get was "the drive is bad, you have to buy a new one". I lost a bunch of information, that I cannot recover unless I sent it somewhere and pay $50+ for them to do it. Cheap price for a horrible product. Do your research and spend a little more money on something better.
