this is just what i needed to extend my tv's power cord so i could hang it on an articulating wall mount. The cord is as thick as any quality power cord and provides a snug fit on both ends. It is 3 prong with tall/short/ground prongs.

I would not buy this if you just need an extension cord for a lamp or something small, this is basically a thick high-rated cord for when you need to extend a computer cord or monitor cord. For those uses, this is perfect and gets 5-stars from me.
