Terrible monitor!:
I've never written a review on an item before but am compelled to on this monitor because of how awful it is. The only pro of this monitor is the static free transmission. My unit is only 9 months old, and it started to turn off, on its own, in the middle of the night, WHEN PLUGGED IN...what the heck??? also, if you are not plugged in, and your charge (batteries) are low..no warning sound, it just stops working.
Also, the child unit blinks (brightly) when the parent unit is off..big distraction for... more info
DO NOT BUY! Cuts Out When You Most Need It!:
This is the first time I have felt strongly enough about a product to write a review for it. I find this monitor to be a safety risk - if your child cries loudly, this monitor loses its signal and shuts off. So, when your baby actually needs you to hear him/her, you can't! Ridiculous. My husband is trying to convince me to sell it on Craigslist and get a different one from Amazon. But frankly, I can't bring myself to even give it away! I'm going to destroy it and trash it.
Beep is too loud:
I did not like this product. First, if the monitor loses contact it emits a very load beep, about the same sound level as a smoke detector. I put this up to my ear to hear the baby and the beep almost ripped my ear off.
Second, the interface is too confusing , they try to do the Ipod thing with one button but I needed instructions to figure it out.
HOME INTERCOM:
I found the sound level to be much too low to be effective. Because of this I was disappointed in the product
