Setting up games is simple with LIVE, and you have the ability to drop in and out of co-operative campaigns at any time.Everything you loved about multiplayer in the original is back, including the classic death matches, but with this sequel there is an added emphasis on teamwork. New multiplayer game modes will require better coordination in order to win. The game also features voice support, so you can communicate with other players around the world -- whether you're on the same team or trash talking!
Gears of War 2 won several awards at E3 2008, where it was first presented, including Overall Best Shooting Game and Overall Best Graphics Technology of E3 2008 from IGN, as well as Best Action Game of E3 2008 from the Game Critics Awards.

Yeah, it makes the cut... no pun intended.:
If you've played the first one and liked it, you'll love this one. It's got pretty much the same controls, so no learning curve which is great. It does have lots more cutting, gutting and blasting than the first though, so you've got plenty to look forward to.
Gears 2, also has better content controls. You can turn the strong language off, without having to get rid of all the gore and glory that comes with cutting down a locust with your chainsaw. This game deserves every bit of its M rating. It's also...more info
INCREDIBLE!:
GOW2 took everything that was good about the first one and made it great. The campaign has an awesome story that grabs a hold and doesn't let go. The action in this game is intense and unyielding. I will say that after you beet the campaign, make sure you sit through the credits, there is a little thing at the very end that may set up a 3rd game, it is a great twist. The inclusion of the new multi-player mode Hoard is alot of fun to play, and at times may seam simply impossible to get past wave after wave....more info

It's like the original. Pretty fun, really brutal. Not recommended for kids.
The limited edition version is awesome, with a nice metal case and a picture book. I haven't watched the DVD yet but it's probably pretty cool.
The picture of Dom and his wife (or girlfriend?) is a nice touch.
Gears 2:
Great game. I believe it lived up to the hype. Although I must say the end boss was way to easy. When You beat the game be sure and watch all the credits because there is an audio teaser at the end.
