Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis wrote the script, but Bill Murray gets all the best lines and moments in this 1984 comedy directed by Ivan Reitman (Meatballs). The three comics, plus Ernie Hudson, play the New York City-based team that provides supernatural pest control, and Sigourney Weaver is the love interest possessed by an ancient demon. Reitman and company are full of original ideas about hobgoblins--who knew they could "slime" people with green plasma goo?--but hovering above the plot is Murray's patented ironic view of all the action. Still a lot of fun, and an obvious model for sci-fi comedies such as Men in Black. --Tom Keogh

Good Movie, But Much To Be Desired "Grainy" Blu-ray Transfer:
Well i have to hand it to all of you who already added reviews citing poor visual quality w/ this blu ray transfer. It's true and it dropped my rating of this movie from a 4 to a 3, although it will always be a classic that brings me back to the golden age of action/adventure movies, the 80's.
Realistically speaking, i do understand that the analog video media of 1984 did have quality shortcomings as compared to the digital media of today, that goes without saying. But regardless of this movie being... more info
Better Than I Remember:
The movie itself is a timeless classic; entertaining and enjoyable for all ages. The transfer from DVD to blu-ray is excellent as well. It has really been cleaned up and the colors evened out. It also has tons of extras. My only complaint is not including Ghostbusters I and II in a blu-ray combo the way they did the DVDs.
