I was a bit aprehensive when buying this item, but decided to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it actually works, and works well. I would recommend this item to any strawberry lover.
Nothing to pull out the plug:
This product does a fine job of cutting out the center of the strawberry but then leaves the little plug that results behind. There is no mechanism for grabbing the core that you just cut out & removing it.
Pretty worthless in my opinion.
"Good Grip" Huller:
This is as close to perfect as you can get for someone with arthritis. My hand hurts much less using the Good Grips tools from Oxo and this tool is no exception. Yes, there may be a little bit of leaf left, but I always wash my berries after I have handled them so it works well for me. The tool is a convenient size and the berries look great!
Excellent strawberry huller:
This is the best strawberry huller I have ever used. It does a great job of removing the leaves and stem almost everytime. Sometimes you have to do a little extra digging but when it works on the first try it is excellent and makes a clean little hole instead of the usual ripped opening. I would definitely recommend giving it a try!
