Time the Conqueror

Time the Conqueror
by: Jackson Browne

Editorial Review:

Browne's first studio release in six years. Recorded with his longtime band Kevin McCormick, Mark Goldenberg, Mauricio "Fritz" Lewak, and Jeff Young, along with two additional members, Chavonne Morris and Alethea Mills. Look for them on tour this fall.

STILL GREAT AFTER ALL THESE YEARS:

I saw JB on PBS' Sounstage and loved this new album. While many reviewers complain about the politicism of JB's work, one thing is true: He is a fantastic musician and songwriter and his band is superb. No one can deny that Jackson Browne is a music legend and he proves, once again, "he's still got it!"

The Preaching Hypocrite:

Jackson Browne seems to be at his best when he's having personal problems. His early albums, particularly "Late for the Sky" were wonderfully explained insights into the soul of a man losing love and dealing with it.
However, when he decides to preach, his work fails and on this album it gets so bad on the song "Where were you?" that I actually threw the thing away. You see, I live in New Orleans and went through Katrina and I am one of the re-builders - but Jackson wants to point fingers at everyone... more info

Time the Conqueror:

Wow! One of Jackson's best efforts to date! Lots of stuff to love here. Tremendous "play again" value!

Good album, keeps growing on me:

I've had this CD for a couple of months, and I continue to like it more every time I hear it. I'm a long time fan of Jackson Browne, and while overall this album is not his all time best there are several tracks that are as good as anything he's done, many solid passages, and I think it's well worth owning the album. The backup singers are great, the songs are the wonderful Jackson Browne mix of universal, topical, sometimes dangerously out there themes, always beautifully and intelligently executed.
