CAREFUL! Color Palette software is the main point!:
If you are looking for a colorimeter to calibrate your LCD or laptop monitors you might want to look elsewhere! When I first saw this product I thought it was a colorimeter with neat palette software. I was wrong, in reverse it is software with a calibration tool. A monitor MUST ALWAYS have the software running. the software creates a 'profile' on your operating system start up, it does not actually help you configure your monitor settings. Easy to use, but there's potential software conflicts:
Installation was simple and straight forward. I got my first computer in 1987, so I've had a good bit of experience with computers. The instructions are well written, and the design is first-rate -- excellent for the price. I did not give it five stars because although I had no problem using, I developed some software problems with other programs after installing it. Software conflicts are best handled by experts, so the user may have to seek help.
Easy to use and accurate:
I saw a demo on this product while attending Macworld. The packaging and the monkey logo are a little goofy so I was leery before the demo. Happy to say that I just got it from Amazon recently and it is working great. It has a color correction (calibration) tool that calibrates monitors. I followed the really basic instructions and it took a few minutes. If you have never calibrated your monitor, you should do so. It made a big difference for me.
