Ok, so you've read the good, the bad, and the ugly about the canon vixia hx200. The image quality is superb, the camera is super portable, and it's packed full of "prosumer" features. You will need a program that will read and convert .mts files. Windows 7 will do this with no problems. For editing I use Pinnacle Studio 11 Ultimate. Shoots great in "low light" (read the manual those who think differently) Of course it's not gonna shoot in the dark but all you have to do is adjust the white balance to... more info
Software not compatible with Windows 7:
After reading the reviews, I decided to get this camera as my first ever video camera. I had decided already that I wasn't going to use the software based on the reviews, but I wanted to see what it looked like and how it functioned anyway. 1. copy your camcorder files (they have a .MTs extension)from your SD memory on to your hard disc.
2. In Nero, in 'Create and Edit' select the 'Author, Edit and Capture Video' option and from there, select 'Make... more info
