Burns at 4x not 16x:

Usually I'm very pleased with Amazon products. However, this product did not live up to the advertisement. It would only burn at 4x's not 16x's.
I can still use them and the price was good, therefore I will not go through the hassle of returning them. That is also the reason I gave two stars rather than one.
Some reviews noted they could burn at 16x's while others stated they also could only burn at 4x's. It makes me wonder if some packages were only mislabeled and it was not intentional.

Why the huge price swings????:

Yesterday this 100 pack of dvd blanks was $16. Today it goes up to $34. Other reviewers have mentioned the same in the past. Why the big price swings amazon? Cost is cost and your costs don't double overnight so why raise the price for your consumers? Back to TDK for me I suppose. I certainly won't spend $34 on dvd blanks, ever.

Write speed very drive dependent:

I have tried two separate orders. In both cases, I got very poor write speeds. I tried them on 4 computers. On 2 of the computers, they would only write at 2x; on the other 2 computers they would write at up to 4x. The drives are Matshita and Pioneer of various vintages---none older than 3 years. In contrast the Taiyo-Yuden 8x discs I get from [...] write at 8x in all 4 computers. They are more expensive ($30 vs $20), but the difference seems well worth it to me.

Great value, no problems so far.:

I purchased a spindle of these solely based on price. I wasn't sure what to expect in terms of quality, but so far I have been pleasantly surprised. I've burned about half the spindle so far in two separate computers and a 1st generation, standalone DVD recorder (Sony RDR-GX7)and haven't had a single failure. I teach public speaking, and I am using the DVD-Rs primarily to record and make copies of class sessions where students are doing speeches.
