DON"T BUY THIS PRODUCT !!!:
We bought this DVD player for our son this past Christmas and it has lasted only three months -- it performed just fine and we enjoyed it but now will not display. We hear the sound, but with no picture it's ka-put. Our son is a computer techie, he's VERY careful with his electronics, so I have to fault the product. We've looked up the warranty information and it expired 30-days later - (not very helpful is it?) -- so we're out the moolah we spent. Advice? DON"T BUY THIS PRODUCT !!!
Product lasted only 4 months:
I bought this DVD player for my 17 year old for Christmas. I purchased it on November 30, 2009. It was not even used until Christmas Day and now as of today, March 19th, 2010 it does not work. Amazon should stand behind the products they sell as should Sony.

But occasionally it will for a brief period. Very bizarre. I finally broke down and hooked it up with component, and although that's 1080i not 1080p it does the trick. I haven't heard... more info
