Customer Review: My kids, ages 9 & 11, love this book (as well as the previous Frankenstein Makes a Sandwich). And, well, so do I. In fact, with that first book, we laughed so hard we started coughing and had to put the book aside for few minutes to catch our breath. This newest book did't incite quite the same... more info
Customer Review: This is by far the funniest book for children that I've read in a while-- and as the mother of a five-year-old, I read a lot of children's books. Reading this, I was reminded of the fun that I had when I first heard Shel Silverstein's "Where The Sidewalk Ends" when I was a child. Probably the... more info
The Dirty Cowboy from Farrar, Straus and Giroux (BYR) Price: $11.53
Customer Review: This book is very cute, although, the little cowboy only has clothes on in the first 4-5 pages. He is covered though, with a boot, this dog, birds, etc. The story is very good, and explains why he has no clothes on. Bought this for a little cowboy, who loves this book!
Pssst! from Harcourt Children's Books Price: $10.88
Customer Review: I find the illustration on the back cover to be lewd in nature. . and not suitable for small children. I am unsure as an educator how this picture made it past the publisher.

It's not a very long book, so it's a good choice when it's already five minutes past bedtime. The illustrations are lively and the writing is clever. Most of the characters never... more info
Customer Review: This book is on the lines of Cam Janson or Junie B. Jones. Great for my daughter who is 9 in the 3rd grade. For anyone dealing with a situation of moving to a new place and/or divorce, this is an appropriate and helpful choice. Very funny and applicable to the 8-11 age group. We saw this book... more info
Customer Review: I thought this was an especially good story to use with children in describing an immigrant's journey. In this materialistic world of ours it's refreshing to find a book that still values family, home, and hearth. I also think the journey the family makes from Ireland to America gives children a... more info

C. with her mother Lily, just around the corner from her Grandparents Madam and Pop. Her parents have recently separated and her father lives in Michigan. Lucy is charming... more info
