Customer Review: Tess of the D'Urbervilles may be Thomas Hardy's greatest novel and would certainly be almost anyone else's. A dark, sweepingly tragic vision, it is a masterpiece in nearly every area: characterization, plot, meaningful themes, prose, and more. Hardy is well-known for being depressing, and this... more info
Customer Review: If you enjoyed True to the Game... save yourself the aggrevation. This reads like a third grader wrote it and makes me believe Ms. Woods has a ghost writer that was on vacation when this one was written. Save yourself the frustration and time.

Customer Review: This book made me want to throw up after I realized what a bad purchase it was. I couldn't get through it. It's a tortuously slow read. Like those books in The Victorian Novel class. It's painful, it's hard so why put up with it. I didn't I gave it to the garbage collectors.

Not that all such literary classics are great, or even good (see the next review)... more info
Customer Review: I have seen several translations of the Yoga Sutras. This one is the best. I think it organises it in a way that allows for the modern reader to get the point. Also, because the book is small, it is easy to take in a pocket and read.
Customer Review: I didn't find this book enjoyable, too much repetition for one reason and being a bit too dramatic for my taste, but I have to say it is definitely worth reading because of the complexities of its characters. The multiple protagonists with the most interesting and significant developement of... more info
Customer Review: If you like Cold War espionage you'll go for this suspense novel copyrighted 1986. An egotistical maniac inside the Soviet Union has plans for the Soviet takeover of Sweden. The plot is laid out very well. The dialogue moves right along. Mr. Woods wastes none of the readers time on unnecessary... more info
