Customer Review: Most of the restaurant recipe books do not work for the home cook. Though I have not tried all the offerings this book has, all that I have tried have come out wonderfully. It's one of the best books of its kind.
Customer Review: Serving an amuse bouche at the start of any dinner is in style but even if it wasn't it's a wonderful way to kick off any dinner party. The purpose is, yes, to kick off the dinner but also with one or two bites to create anticipaton for what is to follow. It is meant to awake the senses and to... more info
Customer Review: I do not like this book. I was expecting a spin off from the original "Zone diet" by Barry Sears. This book changes the process from blocks to grams, much more confusing . The layout of the recipes further complicates. I ask myself , is this a complete meal recipe or just a partial representation to... more info
Customer Review: This book had some nice pictures, but the recipes were not as interesting as those in some other Ice Cream/ Gelato books offered by Amazon.
Customer Review: I bought the book hoping to learn more about cooking steaks. This book does not live up to the name "Steak Bible". Award-winning Chicago chef Tramonto ("Amuse-Bouche") celebrates small doses of assertive, fresh Italian flavor in which a mouthful or two is enough. Dishes are arranged within chapters so... more info
Customer Review: If I had had one minute with this book in a bookstore I would have known the title was a terrible misnomer, but I ordered it online. The book has nothing to offer on the subject of raising your own food for the table. It is a cookbook by someone who had a vegetable garden for ONE YEAR before writing... more info
Customer Review: Edna Lewis passed away at the age of 89 in 2006, and it doesn't appear she took too many cooking secrets with her. Except for finding Greengage plums! As far as I can tell, only a mock version is available in the U.S. The original trees are long gone. And her Greengage Plum Ice Cream sounds **so**... more info
Customer Review: I find myself referring to this book frequently. I'm considered a gourmet chef by friends and family but I find I can always learn something new from looking things up in The Kitchen Companion. A kitchen library isn't complete without this book.
